2006 Ribbon Cutting Raffle

There are 4 prizes that have been generously 
donated by three amazingly talented artists!  
 
The drawing was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday 
 December 16th, 2006 at the Sanctuary.

1st Prize 

'Wolf in Aspens' 
 
 
 
- oil on canvas by Sue Hanson - 2006. 
Professionally framed 18" x 24"
 
The picture doesn't do the painting justice.
 
The colors are deep and rich giving depth to 
the wolf's fur and the Aspen forest around him. 
 
The piercing yellow eyes show the intelligence 
and soulfulness of this wonderful creature.
 
This is a wonderful painting to be displayed

'Stars and Wolves'

-Handmade twin size quilt by Barbara Sommers -2006

 

This stunning quilt with it's golds, burnt oranges, chocolate browns and deep greens, is reminiscent of a lovely Autumn day with the leaves of the trees changing and a crisp breeze in the air.

...And you by the fire with a warm quilt, that you won by purchasing several raffle tickets for a good cause, is wrapped snuggly around your legs!

All you need now is a hot mug of apple cider to warm your hands around.

In 'Wolf Portrait', Herrin captures the relaxed yet aware expression of this wolf at rest. While in 'Two Wolves', the skill of the artist shows the regal manner and presence of the wolf.

Using shadow and highlights to bring out the depth and fullness of the fur, B. Herrin has truly captured the essence of the wolf.

Each one of these will make an elegant statement to any room!
