Remembrances

A pictorial memorial of Beau sits on a table with cards and letters from people who love him.

What Beau Means to Me

Beau,
The peaceful soldier
Determined to guide us to a better place
Stead fast in his loyalties and
Always gentle in his demeanor

Tranquility and calm in his eyes
Belied the pain of his past
He loved those who were his "pack" unfalteringly
And made room for welcoming in new members

To be kissed by Beau
Wasn't just a "dog lick"
He would look into your eyes
Exchange breath with you
And ever so gently, Kiss you
Not wet or sloppy...just a simple Kiss.

I cry now for the loss of him
But at the same time-I feel comforted

He has touched a place very deep in my soul
And I am so grateful to be privileged to know him

...and to have been Kissed

bullet An excerpt from an email from Anne and Harry (in Canada):

"To have had the pleasure, not only to have known him, but to have been in his aura, and the three short weeks Harry and I spent with him truly was a teaching lesson for us both.

One doesn't have to know an animal or a human being for that fact for a long long time to feel in harmony with them, and if the whole world beat to a wolves heart beat, all would be well on earth.

There will be a void in the house with Beau gone, but we must remember him with happiness not sadness.
Much love, Anne and Harry"

bullet An excerpt from an email from Michelle "Chelle" (Jean's Personal Assistant):

"Thanks for all of your support, thoughts and prayers. This has been hard for us all. Beau was very much loved by all of us and has touched all our lives at one time or another. Love and thanks Michelle"

" Here is a brief story of what it felt like to meet my first wolf friend, Beau.

Dear Beau, you came into my life so quickly. My heart was pounding so hard I thought it would burst. You walked directly up to me as I sat very, very still in the swing on Jean’s  veranda. Your clear, large eyes looked straight into mine, and you gave me a nudge on my knee and then a cool kiss on my cheek! In my excitement, I reached out and touched you,  and was amazed at the soft thickness of your beautiful fur and the strength of your body.   I knew at that moment, your pure heart accepted me into your pack. My pounding heart melted, and I was yours forever.

I have traveled the world, met a lot of terrific people, and seen a lot of animals living in many countries, but this memory of my first meeting with Beau, our Ambassador of Love and Light, was truly the most exciting, moving, and touching experience I have ever had with an animal. Beau’s purity of heart, and complete and total acceptance of me,  freed me from the fear I had of working with wolves, and I will cherish his friendship/guidance forever." - Christa Freeman
