OUR LATEST ARRIVAL, LUKE, IS LITERALLY A WALKING MIRACLE!! Apparently stolen from his owner, he turned up in one of the few yards that had secure fencing. The property owners were very kind, kept him a few days and then took him to BARC/ Animal Control. Meanwhile, the neighbor of the previous owner put LOST signs all over the neighborhood. A volunteer at Animal Control realize he was a wolf. All three of these very special ladies, found us on the Web - and all called me! At my request ... the volunteer arranged for a NO KILL sign to go on Luke's quarantine area. The lady into whose yard he wandered was worried that he might be euthanized and went back to BARC to make sure he was okay. The neighbor came all the way out here to get me after the quarantine period, via our local vet. Luke has quite severe heart worms, and is being treated here, under Veterinary supervision. Both ladies have been wonderful in helping to raise funds for Luke's support. There are some VERY nice, kind and caring people out there. Our beloved little Spirit now has her very own Handsome Prince and there is every reason to believe they will live happily ever after.
It always seems that along with the tears & heartache of the passing of a dear friend (Yukon passed on in June, read his remembrances here)
...There is also the joy & happiness of welcoming a NEW friend.
