Mwitu

Hi! My name is Mwitu (pronounced M-Wee-Tu).  I am the baby girl of the bunch and the apple of everyone’s eye. I am now a Big Girl and 8 months old, as I was probably born sometime towards the end of June, 2005.

I guess you could say that I am a Tomboy! I don’t go for any of the little girly frills and lace.  No Way !  I am more interested in p laying with my Uncle Rex, digging in the dirt, rolling in the mud, playing tug of war with my human pals; just generally getting into everything.

I live in the house. Although I did try to live in the enclosure with Wacipi, but I was too small.  A flick of my tail and I wiggled through the fence and was off and running. I now live with Jean and John, Uncle Rex- a German Sheppard, Ghostie- a little black Terrier, Simba- a Rhodesian Lion Dog, Solly – a Dalmatian, and Beau, my new adopted Daddy.  Beau looks a lot like my birth father and we even have the same ears.  The first time I saw Beau I fell in love with him and knew he would take care of me. He is the most calm and gentle Creature Person I know.  He has become my mentor, my companion and my Daddy.  I love him very much and I am trying to become a “Proper Lady Wolf”, but sometimes I realize I really want to play. My favorite game is to see how man pieces of furniture I can chew before I get caught.

A really nice man found me when I was only some eight weeks old. I was lost and all alone,.  Both of my back legs had been dislocated and it hurt to walk. I can’t really remember what happened to me or where my parents went, but that nice man took me to the Humane Society.  I really enjoyed it there.  The human people were nice to me and treated me very well and in no time I was able to walk, jump and try to help out in my own Special way.  I became an expert at cleaning off their desks, opening doors, separating the trash from the trashcans and –my favorite- turning any and all papers into confetti. I enjoyed my time there, but when they told me I was coming to a place with other creature people who looked like me, I couldn’t wait!

Here I am now and loving every minute of it!  I have a comfy bed, friends and a full tummy that gets scratched whenever I want!  What more could a girl ask for! I now play and run with lots of two & four legged friends in a large grassy garden. (Clearing her throat and sitting up very tall and straight with pride in her voice) Beau has told me that I may have the honor of becoming a WAT (Wolf Ambassador Trainee) as soon as I am old enough: I am so excited, that I will be able to help those with special needs. Truly I don’t understand what the term special needs means, all I see is loving human creatures that want to give me tummy rubs.
